The Central Florida Association for the Education of Young Children honored three friends of early
childhood as their 2007 Children's Champions. Laurin MacLeish was honored for over 35 years of teaching
young children and her advocacy for developmentally appropriate practices for young children. Tammy
Tener was honored for her 23 years of service to quality family child care and her leadership and
involvement with organizations to provide mentoring and training for family child care providers.
Lessie Woodruff was honored for over 40 years of teaching children and adults and her involvement in
coordinating for the basic needs of all families and children in her community to be met. They truly
are our Children's Champions!
